The devLink conference is almost here. It has run for a few years here in Nashville, but this year it has moved to Chattanooga. According to my sources, this is because the primary organizer relocated there. I wish them the best of luck, but I’m a little saddened. I really enjoyed going to devLink last year. For just $100, I enjoyed several days of technical presentations, Open Spaces chats, and good geekdom.

It would be great to start another conference and continue that tradition here. Even though I’m a Java developer and most of the attendees were .NET folk, I had a great time and met really talented people. In fact, that is where I met Csaba with whom we founded the Nashville Java User’s Group.

I hope you’re not reading this as a proposal for me to run a conference. However, if a handful of people were interested in forming some sort of committee to start working on such a conference perhaps for next year, I would definitely help out.
